Production Meeting Reflection 1

This week I pointed out many hazards on studio floor and in the gallery, which i will have to make safe so that everyone in the studio is safe and that are show runs with no problems. I also helped Taylor the set design, design an idea for the set. I gave her ideas that she may or may not use, such as making the chairs a bright colour. This week i gave many ideas that can be put into our music magazine show. One idea i put across was to name a segment of our show, "Street Vibe” this is where we get opinions from the public that are on the street. Jasmeet who is director really liked this idea and is certainly going to use the name for the segment. Also the group was pleased that i finished of my risk assessment because it meant that i could give ideas for the show, and help other people to progress in their tasks. This week there has been a lot of success, First of all i finished of my first task on time, which was a risk assessment for the set, also we have picked a idea that we are all happy to go with, which is Jadas' idea, and just over all everyone is getting on with their tasks, to a very good quality, and is talking to each other about what can be in the show in order to make it look really good. Next week i am going to start on the studio floor plan for the show. I fell as if i have worked very well with my hierarchical peers. This is because we have all got along and are talking about the show, and what we can do to make it better. I have worked well with Kaval to get the risks under control, so that on live day they do not become hazards. Also I have worked well with Prabjyot and Ellie in order to make the colour look better. Me and Ellie asked Prabjyot to show use what the logo will look like in yellow and it looks much better, and may be the one use are going to use. Overall the whole group have been getting along with their own individual tasks as well as helping each other out, to make the show be a success.

Own Proposal Reflection

This was our first production meet we have had, and we all sat around a table and spoke about are ideas. At first we did not really understand what we had to do, and when we were asking the group for feedback on are ideas, most of the group forget what each person’s ideas for the show was about, so we just have quickly for 30 seconds redo out pitch. When i did mine, i did not get a lot of feedback due to the fact that most people were shy and did not know what to say, but in the end i did get some good feedback on my idea. The group gave me positive and negative feedback for my idea. Jasmeet said "I like the concept of showing the audience the set being made up for the opening sequence" But then Ellie said "That is a good ideas but it will only work if you can pull it off to a good slandered, and most likely we will not be able to do that and it will make the show look unprofessional. Also Taylor said "I like the idea of having picture of the guest and the presenters as your backdrop, it makes it look much more fun and fresh for the audience. I voted for Jada idea because it was the most thought out, in term of content, and also I liked the name she gave the show “The beat” because it relates to music. And also her games related to music which is sticking to the brief, and he colours appeal to a teenage audience which is also sticking to the brief. But I think that her idea does need a bit of improvement, for example we need to make sure that her idea has an usp, so that it stands out from other shows. Other people said that we should have drinks on the table so i think that we should have this in the show.

(Task 2B) Idea For a multi camera production

We have been asked to come up with an idea for a potential music magazine show. When doing this I have to consider many factors, these are:
 Programme Format
The type of show we are producing is a music magazine show; these typically contain a range of content including news, documentary, gossip, interviews, graphics and games, which are talk about with guest stars. The One Show is a typical magazine show, because it covers a wide range of information. So for are show we will talk about a wide range of topics that relate to music. Such as new songs and albums out, and celebrity gossip.
 Title of Show
Our target audience are teenagers, so when thinking of a title for the show, we have to make it relate to the target audience. I will name my show 'Vibe', This is because, it relates to music and it has a fresh and young fell to it. On the right is what i would like my logo of the show to look like, i have chosen the color red because it stand out and it a powerful color, and i have put the music note next to it, so that it relates back to music and people know are show is about all aspect of  music.  I wanted to go for the fresh and young fell, and i think that i have conveyed this within my title. I have put a lot of colors into my logo, to make it stand out and apple to the younger market, but i have also simple and clear to what is it trying to convey, which makes it look fresh.

Content Ideas
In this section I will talk about what I would like to be in a show. I was thinking to start it of which the viewer’s being able to see the set being made in fast motion, right up until the last seconds, then we hear the director say action and then the camera will cut to the presenters.  This will give the show a relaxed and fun felling, and will be unique because not many shows do this. But one problem with this is that the studio I very small so, when we see the studio being set up, it might be very quick and not long enough. Also I want there to be a lot of games whilst informing the viewers about different music, this can be done through quizzes and audience interactions, such as call in, so that the audience fell part of the show.

I would have games such as match the star with the prop. An example of this is on the left, The guest will have to say what letter matches with the  number.

Running Order
Are show has to be 30minutes long. So from:
0:00-1:00 we will see the set being set up and the presenter will introduce the show.
1:00-2:00 we will see a VT introducing the show, with images relating to music and hip-hop music in the back ground, then my title of the show will appear. Then it will appear on the presenters sitting down.
2:00-3:00 we will see the presenter talking about what will happen on the show, and saying what guest we have today.
3:00-4:00 we will see the first guest come out and sit down and we will introduce them, then play there music video.
4:00-7:00 we will see the music video being played.
7:00-8:00 we will talk more to the guest and ask questions.
8:00-9:00 we will play a game with them, such as guest the song being played.
9:00-10:00 we will say bye to the first guest and introduce the next guest. Then talk to them about what they have been doing.
10:00-13:00 we will then play their music video.
13:00-14:00 we will talk more to them and play a game such as a quiz.
14:00-15:00 we will then say bye to the guest and then see what people are talking about on twitter, and take questions.
15:00-16:00 we will introduce last guest, and talk to them.
16:00-19:00 we will play their music video
19:00-20:00 we will ask them more question and take audience question as well
20:00-21:00 we will play a game with them such as match the voice with the music star
21:00-22:00 we will then bring back all guest to take part in a physical game, such as build largest tower will marshmallow and spaghetti.
22:00-23:00 say the winner and then give prize.
23:00-24:00 go to different location and ask public and say who looked better, at the BET Awards.
24:00-25:00 back in studio with all guest and talk to them about up and coming projects, such as films and products.
25:00-26:00 talk about major news such as BeyoncĂ© and JayZ not going to Kim and Kanye’s’ wedding. Get their reactions
26:00-27:00 show clip of young music star from you tube. Get the guest reactions.
27:00-29:00 take more calls and twitter comments from viewers for the guest stars. Then take a picture with guest and stick on back drop.
29:00-30:00 say bye to guest wish them luck and end show. Fades to end sequence, with hip hop music in background.

Visual Style/ Studio Design

The guests get food and drinks.
blue backdrop with pictures on it.
When designing my set i want it to look very natural but yet fun, and young. I don't want it to be very packed with lots of props, but i would like the set just to have a few props that convey the felling we want to get across to the audience. The felling I want to get across is that the show is relaxed and fun. So some of the props i will have will be, little picking food on the table for the guest and presenter and they will also bring on with them a drink they want. By doing this it makes the show fell relaxed and fun, and as if we are all friends just catching up and talking, which makes the audience fell very relaxed and enjoying watching the show more. Am example that used this concept is Alan Carr Chatty Man. When the guest come on they get to pick what drink they want and get to eat nuts and any little foods.  Also in terms of studio design, i would like a light blue back drop with a natural light on it, in order to give the show the felling of naturalness. To then make the back drop appeal to a younger audience on the backdrop i will have pictures of the presenters and all of the guest they have had on the show. I have got this idea from the Jonathan Ross show, where is backstage backdrop is blue with pictures on it. I fell as if it makes the show fell fun and up to date, which is why i am adopting the idea he has used and changing it to twist my music magazine show. Also i would like the presenters to sit on one sofa and the guests to sit on another. I want the sofas to be very colorful and bold, because my set will be quite natural my props needs to be bright, this will then create a focus point, be on the presenters and guest. The View had inspired me to use bright colored sofas, because i fell it makes the guests and presenter stand out from the background, and it also looks very young fresh which is the whole fell of my show. I would like the presenters to sit on a bright yellow sofa and i want the guest to sit on a purple sofa. This will make the audience fell welcomed due to bright colored, making them want to watch the show. I do understand it will be hard to get these colored sofas so if i have to i would get a normal sofa and then get a colored sheet and put it over the dull sofa, as a way of improvising.

Also what the presenters wear will convey the felling and meaning on the show, and is part of the studio design in a way. So i would like for my presenters to wear very up to date clothing, and for it to to fresh and vibrant. I have taken inspiration from E News presenters. The women dress in colorful outfits, that reflex what the show is about, which are celebrities, because just like celebs they also keep up with the latest trends, and styles. For the men i would like them to dress formal but yet casual and stylish, in order to make the audience feel as if it is not a formal show, and that they show will be young and entertaining. And because young people now are very into their fashion and how they look, when they watch my show they will be able to relate to the presenters and take ideas from them, in term of what they wear. This will then make them enjoy the show much more, which in return will make them carry on watching, which is what all music magazine shows want from the viewers, because it will bring in more money for them.

As part on my studio design this is how i would like my floor to be set out. As you can see I have 3 camera covering everyone on the show, Camera 1 will be my safe shot and camera 2 will focus on the guests and camera 3 will focus on the presenters. Also i have put the twitter feed where we can read out what the viewers have been saying on the edge of the room so that the presenters have to move around the room so that the viewers don't just have to see that same location for 30 minutes. I have got inspiration of this idea from This Morning, where they go into The Hub to read out twitter tweets, This is another location to the set and it just changes things up and allow the viewers to have a break from seeing the same location all the time.

Sketch of Background

I want my back drop t be light blue, so that the show looks bright and so that the viewers can see the presenters and guest more easily, which will allow the viewers to engage with the show much more. Also on the back drop i would like there to be pictures of the presenters and all of the guest that have been on the show, giving it a fun and fresh felling to the show. This means that after the show the guest have to take pictures with the presenters and stick it onto the backdrop. This will then allow then audience to see who has been on the show. I have got this idea from the Jonathan Ross Show where in back stage they have pictures of the guest who have been on the show, so i thought I will have that on my backdrop, to put a unique twist on it, and make it my own.
Blue backdrop with pictures on it

Presentation Style

The type of style i want to go for in term of the presenters mood of address, is fun and excited. I want my presenters to talk as if they are talking to friends, so that the audience fell welcomed, and because my target audience are teenagers they will be able to relate to the language much more, than older people. But i do not want it to come across fake, it has to be natural, and not stupid. The type of style I want to go for is the same as E News, They are very relaxed and talk to each other as if they are friends, and just having a normal conversation. I also want my presenters to bounce of each other and finish of each others sentences which will show that they have good chemistry and will make the audience fell very relaxed and entertained even when the presenters are just talking. I also want them to be calm and not to hyper when talking to the guest, because when the guest come out they will be focusing on them in stead of the presenters, so if the presenters are hyper at this moment they will take away the light from the guest, which the viewers may not like, and will lead to them not watching anymore.
